Carl Keltner, 82, of Glasgow, formerly of Columbia, passed away Monday, Oct. 15, 2012 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, after several months illness.

He was born on Aug. 30, 1930 in Green County and was the son of the late Thomas Alfred and Montrie Blaydes Keltner.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Wiseman Keltner of Glasgow; two sons, David Keltner and his wife Jessie of London and Steve Keltner and his wife Debbie of Nicholasville; one daughter, Beth Hatchett and her husband Jerry of Lexington; one brother, George Keltner of Columbia; four grandchildren, Kristy Jenkins and her husband Brian, Carl Hatchett, Robert Hatchett and Lee Hatchett; and by one great grandson, Jackson Jenkins.

He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Keltner was a Korean War Coast Guard veteran, a member of First United Methodist Church in Glasgow, a retired grocery store operator and meat inspector for the United States Department of Agriculture for 20 years.

Funeral service is today at 1 p.m. at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Hatchett officiating with interment in Columbia Cemtery with full military honors presented by VFW Post 6097.

Pallbearers are Bob Barnes, Carl Hatchett, Lee Hatchett, Robert Hatchett, Tom Hatcher and Brian Jenkins.
