Carl S. Coomer

Carl S. Coomer, 78, of Columbia, passed away July 24 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. He was born Jan. 27, 1938 at Nell and was the son of the late Hollis and Bertie Brown Coomer.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Gowen Coomer of Columbia; one daughter, Sheila (Mike) Sexton of Columbia; one brother, Cordell Coomer of Milltown; one sister, Ineze (Danvel) Blythe of Louisville; two grandchildren, Melanie (Robbie) Isbell and Matthew (Aimee) Sexton; three great grandchildren, Asher Isbell, Asa Isbell and Mayes Sexton; special nephew Rodney Blythe; and a host of other relatives and friends survive.

He was a member of Big Creek Missionary Baptist Church and worked at Edmonton Manufacturing.

Funeral service was Thursday, July 28 at Big Creek Missionary Baptist Church with internment in Moore Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Frankie Froedge, Daniel Froedge, Michael Richard, Phillip Richard, Randy Coomer, Rodney Blythe and Chad Morrison. Honorary Pallbearers were Asher Isbell, Asa Isbell and Mayse Sexton.
