OBIT: Cuiver S. Scott, 100

Cuiver S. Scott, 100, of Columbia, passed away Thursdy, Feb. 2, 2012 at Westlake Regional Hospital emergency room.

She was born on Nov. 15, 1911 in Cumberland County and was the daughter of the late Billy Houston and Bertie Bow Sewell and she was the widow of Travis R. Scott who preceded her in death on Nov. 25, 2000. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Sharlene Davis on March 14, 1990.

She is survived by one son, Travis Paul Scott and his wife Pam of Columbia; three grandchildren, Mike Scott and his wife Chrissy of Russell Springs, Leslye Mackelwich and her husband Wil of Plains, Mont. and Jenifer Perkins and her husband Jason of Columbia; five great grandchildren, Chris Chamness, Morgan Chamness, Nehemiah Baldwin, Matthew Perkins and Raven Helm; a special niece, Wanda McDonald of Burkesville; and by her sister-in-law, Ruth Smith Sewell of Louisville.

Several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends also survive.

She was a member of Columbia United Methodist Church, a member of Columbia United Methodist Women, member of the Adair Chapter Order of Eastern Star #835 and was retired from Lerman Brothers Department Store with 40 plus years.

Funeral service was Monday, Feb. 6 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Lowe and Rev. Neil Janes officiating with interment in Columbia Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Columbia United Methodist Church and may be made at the funeral home.
