OBIT: Gleason Finn, 81

Gleason Finn, 81, of the Portland community, passed away Monday, Feb. 6, 2012 at Summit Manor Health and Rehab Center.

He was born on Nov. 24, 1930 in Adair County and was the son of the late Finis and Lucy Ethel Reliford Finn.

He was a member of Pickett’s Chapel United Methodist Church, a retired electrician and a farmer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister, Huston and Ernest Finn and Elsie Privette.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Kessler Finn of Portland; one daughter, Linda Kay Moss and her husband Jim of Columbia; one son, Mike “Diddle” Finn of Portland; his special granddaughter, Amy Moss of Columbia; his sister-in-law, Frances Finn and his special niece, Sheila Keltner, both of Columbia.

Several other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral service is today at 2 p.m. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Pat Smith, Bro. Roger McKinney and Bro. Hugh Withers officiating with burial in Haven Hill Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to either the MS Foundation or Relay for Life. These may be left at the funeral home.

Casket bearers are Jimmy Reliford, Pete Beard, Pat Mathis, Edward Kessler, Donald Kessler and David Burris.
