OBIT: Okey Lee Roberts, 77

Okey Lee Roberts, 77, of Jamestown, passed away Monday, Feb. 20, 2012 at Russell County Hospital in Russell Springs after a long illness.

He was born on Jan. 10, 1935 in Calvin, W.V. and was the son of the late Ephriam and Dortha Jane Mullins Roberts of West Virginia.

Mr. Roberts is survived by three sons, Larry Roberts of Houston, Texas, Jason Roberts and his wife Angie of Jamestown and Gilbert Lee Cox II of Russell Springs; three daughters, Peggy Cox and her husband Jeff of Costa Mesa, Calif., Shella Harris and her husband Carl of Russell Springs and Julie Lane and her husband Doug of Deputy, Ind.; eight grandchildren, Brandy Graham, William Whalen, Amanda Roberts, Emma Roberts, Hannah Roberts, Lexi Roberts, Austin Roberts and Gilbert Lee Cox III; and by one great grandchild, Chole Graham.

Three brothers and four sisters also survive.

He was preceded in death by one grandson, Dwayne Collins in 1991.

Mr. Roberts was a retired factory worker for Dayton Walther in Carrollton and was a Kentucky Colonel.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
