Barbara Jean McGaha, 95, of Columbia, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Grandview Nursing Home in Campbellsville. She was born on January 19, 1928 in Kokomo, Indiana to the late Edgar and Stella Warner Bryant. She was preceded in death by her husband, Schuyler McGaha.
Mrs. McGaha was a member of the New Hope Separate Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking, reading, sewing, gardening and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include three children, Vernie McGaha (Connie) of Russell Springs, Darryl McGaha of Columbia and Denise Glanzer of Campbellsville; four grandchildren, Brian McGaha (Jeannie), Susan Taylor, Jennifer Houk (John) and Brandon Glanzer (Alyssa); six great-grandchildren, Luke Popplewell, Braxton Glanzer, Skyler Houk, Taylor Houk, Bryant Glanzer and Xander Houk; two sisters, Joyce Anderson of Russell Springs and Judy England of Columbia; and several nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Norma Bauer, Dorothy Roberts and Wanda Burton, and a brother Huey Braynt.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at the New Hope Separate Baptist Church with burial in the New Hope Cemetery.
Bro. Casey Davis and Bro. Don Neat officiated. Pallbearers were Vernie McGaha, Darryl McGaha, Brian McGaha, Brandon Glanzer, John Houk, Braxton Glanzer, Luke Popplewell, Bryant Glanzer and Xander Houk.
