Hazel Rogers Curry, 92, formerly of Richmond and a widow of the late Embry Curry, died Sunday, December 31, 2023 at her home in Columbia.
She was born July 29, 1931 in Jackson County to the late George W. and America Dean Rogers. She was retired from Westinghouse and Phillips Lighting and a member of Broadway Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son, Steven Embry Curry (Jan) of Columbia; one sister, Faye Venable; a loved and adored family member, Libby Garrett; grandchildren, Graham Swayze and Andrew Lewis Pence (Melissa); great-grandchildren, Victoria Pence and Audrey Miller; family members Edith Johnson (Alex) and Anita Portwood; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Oldham, Roberts and Powell Funeral Home with Brandon Carter and Malcolm Hester officiating with burial following in the Richmond Cemetery.
Visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. at Oldham, Roberts and Powell Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Pence, Seth Johnson, Gary Portwood, Steve Bates, Ethan Bates and Greg Knighton.
Honorary pallbearers will be Carrie and Roy Grimes, Libby Garrett, Alex Johnson and Dana Knighton.
Grissom-Martin Funeral Home assisted with local arrangements.
