Adair County Arts Council

Kentucky writers read at the Extension Office

Main point of last week’s meeting of the Adair County Arts Council (ACAC) was the final preparation for the Writer’s Day this weekend. For more than half a year Darlene Campbell was busy organizing the event, she found a location and more than a dozen authors that will read from their books.

The ACAC Writers’ Day will take place Saturday at the Adair County Extension office from 9 a.m. until about 3 p.m. and is of course open to the public. The event has authors from the region and beyond who will read about 15 minutes each. In the morning session the visitors can hear – in this order – from the books of Mig Feuser, Linda Waggener, Mike Watson, Samantha Sinclair, Sandi Keaton Wilson, Kenny Scott Guffey, and Chad M. Horn.

From 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. will be a lunch break, then the readings will continue with Rick Lee, Paul Stansbury, Ruth Rodgers, Maurice Manning, and Ben Arnold, followed by 45 minutes of open mic time, before Darlene Campbell will read and the event be closed. The Adair County Arts Council invites all interested citizens to join a diverse program with subjects from fiction, poetry to non-fiction.
