Matrie (Hill) Roach, 95, was born October 1, 1928 and passed from our hands into God’s loving arms on March 7, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love for her family and friends to cherish.
Born in Chance, Matrie spent most of her life in the Chicago area until relocating to Florida for the past four years. She was married to the late Damen Roach, daughter to Elic and Katie (Coomer) Hill, sister to Airie, Rosey, Cecil, Tommy, Ruby, Flossie, Chester and Hazel.
She was mother to Linda (Fiance Don F.) Gerritsen nee Roach and John (Mary Ann Zellmann) Roach; and grandmother to Dylin and James Gerritsen.
No words can express what a God loving, selfless, kind, woman she was. Matrie was loved by so many and will be dearly missed.
Memories will be shared at a visitation today, Thursday, March 14, from 3 – 9 p.m. at Hann Funeral Home, 8230 S. Harlem Ave. Bridgeview, IL 60455. Chapel prayers are Friday, March 15 at 11 a.m. at Hann Funeral Home. Interment in Chapel Hills Garden south Cemetery.
