William “Bill” James Martens, 40, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Friday, May 3, 2013 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Panama City, Fla., as a result of an accident that occurred on April 23 at Rock’It Lanes Bowling Alley in Panama City, Fla.

He was born on Wednesday, Dec. 6, 1972 and was the son of Tony and Lorene Martens of Columbia.

Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife, Stacey Berry Martens of Panama City, Fla.; his daughter, Kimberlee Ray Hamm of Mineral Wells, Texas; his step daughter, Kristjona Smith of Panama City, Fla.; his step son, Austin Henry of Ohio; his brother, Charles (Debbie) Martens of Sugar Grove, Va.; his sister, Jennifer (Lee) Martens Lambertson of Newport News, Va.; and by three nieces, Katie, Diana and Emily.

Bill worked as a mechanic. He served in the Army. He loved growing his flowers and tending his yard.

Cremation has been chosen.

A celebration of life and memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 11 at 2 p.m. at New Life for the Nations, located at 5095 Campbellsville Rd.

Brock’s Home Town Funeral Home in Callaway, Fla. was in charge of funeral arrangements.
