William ‘Bill’ Watson

William “Bill” Watson, 87, of Elizabethtown, formerly of Cane Valley, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016 at Signature Healthcare of Elizabethtown after an illness.

Bill was born May 7, 1929 in Cane Valley to the late Archie William and Mattie Wilson Watson. He was preceded in death by one son, Gregory Keith Watson, in 2010; one grandson Trenton Thomas Watson; and by one sister, Imogene Schroerlucke.

Mr. Watson is survived by one son, Jeffrey  and wife Donna Watson of Elizabethtown; one daughter, Marcia Siebel of Cincinnati, Ohio; one sister, Betty Faye Langley of Leitchfield; five grandchildren, Chase Thomas Watson, Becky Puckett, Nikki Skidmore, Daniel McEntush and Michael McEntush; and by seven great-grandchildren.

Bill was a member of Cane Valley Christian Church and a home builder in Elizabethtown for many years owning Kentucky Builders Supply. Bill was a past president of the Kentucky Home Builders Association, a Kentucky Colonel, a Mason, and a member of the Lions Club of Elizabethtown. Bill was a committee member of the Cane Valley Cemetery for many years.

Funeral service will be held Friday, Aug. 5 at 11 a.m. at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Bro. Ivan Tucker officiating and interment in the Cane Valley Cemetery.

The family request visitation after 3 p.m. today at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. Stotts-Phelps-McQueary is in charge of funeral arrangements.
