The Adair County football program would like to invite the community out tonight for the kickoff of the 2017 season. Tonight at 5 p.m., the Adair youth football league will be hosting its 12th annual free football camp.
The camp is open to all enrolled Adair County students from kindergarten through sixth grade (must be under the age of 13). 100 free t-shirts will be available on a first come, first served basis to campers. Activities will include blocking, tackling, rushing, and passing stations with an additional obstacle course as well.
The Adair County High School Touchdown Club would also like to invite the community to attend their 1st annual alumni football game. The alumni game will take place following the free youth camp and the alumni teams will consist of former ACHS football players who wish to participate. The game will be a 7-on-7 two-hand touch format with kickoff set for 7 p.m.
“We are inviting all former coaches and players to be a part of this event,” says Adair football coordinator David Holmes. “Players who last played during an even year will be on the red alumni team, while players who last played during an odd year will be on the blue alumni team.”
All of these activities will be hosted at ACHS football field and are free of charge. Concessions will be available throughout the events and donations will be accepted.
For more information about the free camp, or if you are interested in playing in the alumni game, feel free to call Adair County Football coordinator David Holmes at 270-634-7788.
