The Adair County High School boys’ and girls’ basketball teams will entertain Green County squads after visiting Cumberland County for season-openers. Adair County will host Green County in a boys-girls doubleheader on Friday (Nov. 30). The Indians and Lady Indians tipped off their respective seasons on Tuesday, playing in games that ended with a loss for the boys’ and a win for the girls’.
A look at both of the Adair County-Green County basketball games follows.

Boys – Adair County-Green County: Both the Adair County and Green County boys’ basketball teams will have a game behind them when they meet for an early-season boys’ high school hoops matchup Friday night.
Green County was hosting Barren County in a season-opener on the same night that Adair County visited Cumberland County.
Green County, under the direction of head coach Ashley Geralds, finished the 2011-12 season 8-23. A member of the 18th District, Green County lost three starters to graduation. The Dragons return sophomore point guard Colton Bush and junior Weston McDermott, both of whom were starters in the 2011-12 season.
Seniors Zach Proffitt and Dakota Westmoreland are also set to help lead the Green County boys’ basketball team.
Adair County defeated Green County three times during the 2011-12 season.
Tip-off for the Adair County-Green County boys’ basketball game is set for 7 p.m.
Girls – Adair County-Green County: After defeating Green County in two of three meetings during the 2011-12 season, Adair County will host the Lady Dragons on Friday night. Adair County will look to enact some revenge on the Green County girls’ basketball team. After sweeping Green County in a two-game series played as part of the regular-season, Adair County fell to the much-improved Lady Dragons in the opening round of the 5th Region Tournament at Central Hardin late last February.
Green County, under the tutelage of head coach Chris Blaydes, completed the 2011-12 season 26-7. The Lady Dragons lost leading scorer and rebounder Micah Jones (22.2 ppg, 5.8 rpg) to graduation but return junior guard Kayla Bale (12.4 ppg) and senior guard Rachel Marr (11.0 ppg).
