4th annual Revisit Knifley will be held this weekend in the Knifley community. Most events will be held at the Campbellsville Emmaus Knifley Campground, former Knifley Grade Center, 12190 Knifley Road, Knifley.
The event will kick off on Friday night with a community gospel singing at the Knifley Brethern in Christ Church, 6029 Elkhorn Road at 6:00. Bring a lawn chair, as the singing will be outside.
Saturday events will begin with a country ham breakfast and at the Emmaus Campground and a 5K run at the Knifley crossroads. Other events will include a tractor show, car show, vendors, and free activities for the kids such as “bounce houses”, petting zoo and train rides.
There will be a kids pedal tractor pull at 12:00 in front of the old school. A live auction will be held at 5:00. Lots of vendors will be set up throughout the day selling crafts, food and one of a kind items.
There will be music throughout the day including karakoe, the Dream Depot singers, Winding Creek Studio Band and Puncheon Creek.
Knifley history will be on display and folks with ties to Knifley are being asked to contribute to the history by recording their memories of growing up or attending school in Knifley. There will be a makeshift recording area set up for this purpose.
The night will end with a large fireworks display at dark. The fireworks are provided by Jeremy Wethington and his crew, the same group that did the fireworks for the Columbia 4th of July.
