Adair County police and emergency medical personnel responded to a 911 call indicating a possible suicide at a Lindsey Wilson College dormitory on Tuesday morning.

As a result, Colton Hutzelman, a junior from Louisville, was found unresponsive in his dorm room at Smith Hall.

A campus wide email sent by LWC President Bill Luckey confirmed that Hutzelman was found deceased in a residence hall.

“I know how painful this must be to all of you who knew Colton as a friend, a student, a teammate and a fellow Blue Raider,” said Luckey. “I want you to know that campus is safe and at no time was there a danger to students, faculty or staff. Counseling services for students and the entire LWC community are available by calling 270-384-7484 or contacting campus ministries at 270-384-8144. Please keep the student’s family, teammates and friends in your thoughts and prayers. Further information will be released when it is made available.”

Hutzelman was a member of the LWC baseball team.
