An Adair County High School student has allegedly been taken into custody following a postingĀ  on social media Monday night that Kentucky State Police and federal authorities apparently felt was grounds for additional questioning and thorough investigation.

KSP is not releasing further details at this time, but the incident apparently did not occur on school grounds.
Superintendent Alan Reed said he and other school officials take any and all threats seriously and intend to provide assistance to law enforcement.

“Anyone who posts threatening messages of any sort, implied or otherwise, against our district should be fully aware that district and local, state and federal officials are likely going to find you and we will help them prosecute you”, said Superintendent Reed. “Given the tools we have today, social media is no place to hide out for those who make threats.”
