On Sunday, December 10, 2017, Trayton Stargel traveled to Fern Creek in Louisville, KY, for a wrestling tournament with the Taylor County Youth Wrestling Program, coached by Chris Harrison, where he brought home a 2nd place win and medal.
Trayton, a 7th grader at ACMS, who also wrestles on Adair County’s first ever wrestling team, coached by Court Mace and Brett Blair, hopes to bring awareness about the sport of wrestling to Adair County.
His love and passion for the sport is definitely proven each and every time he is on the mat. “When most people think of wrestling, they think of the “fake, scripted wrestling,” says Trayton, “but this is not like that at all. This is the real thing!”
The ACMS wrestling boosters would like to invite everyone to check out the wrestling schedule about upcoming matches and events on ACMS’s website, as well as pictures and other useful information. This is a program that the boosters are wanting to see continue to the high school level, which can then provide many young athletes the opportunity to attend Lindsey Wilson College or Campbellsville University on a possible wrestling scholarship.
Congratulations Trayton! Keep up the good work!
