The Columbia Police Department responded to a two-vehicle collision with injury on Bomar Heights on Sunday evening, Dec. 8 shortly before 5 p.m.

The accident occurred when Diontae Ennis, 30, of Columbia was operating a 2019 Dodge Charger rental car from Ohio, met in a curve and had a near head on/side swipe with Cassius Beard, 84, of Columbia in his 2008 Ford Focus.

Beard was taken by Adair County EMS to TJ Health Columbia and was later air lifted to the University of Louisville hospital for injuries.
