Adair Man Injured After Single Vehicle Collision with Horse

On Jan. 14, 2023, at 6:05 p.m., Adair County 911 received a call of a reported injury collision five miles west of Columbia on KY 80.

Deputy Josh Durbin arrived on scene to find that a 2007 Tahoe operated by Jeff Dixon of Columbia had struck a horse in the roadway. Dixon was treated on scene by Adair EMS and taken to T.J. Samson Hospital in Columbia. Dixon was later transferred to the University of Kentucky Hospital for additional treatment for injuries sustained in the collision.

Deputy Josh Durbin was assisted on scene by Deputy Jason Camfield and Chief Deputy Brandon Hitch.
