The Columbia Police Department responded to an injury collision on Monday morning which occurred in the westbound lane of Louie B. Nunn parkway between exits 49 and 46.

The accident occurred when a 2012 Ford Superduty operated by Don Sams, 49, of Sharpsburg came upon a short rise after driving through fog and came upon a 2002 PT Cruiser, also westbound in the same lane, driven by Norman Dunagan, 82 of Columbia.

The Superduty made impact with the Cruiser, sending it into the grass median, where the vehicle came to a stop. Dunagan was taken by Adair County EMS from the scene and was initially transported to TJ Health Columbia before being transported to University of Kentucky Hospital

Officer Adam Cravens investigated the accident and was assisted on scene by Sergeant Charles Greer. The Columbia-Adair County Fire Department also responded.
