Adair County High School fared very well well in its 7-on-7 tournament on Saturday. The Indians compiled a 5-1 record, falling to Bullitt East in the semifinals. Wayne County won the high school football 7-on-7 passing tournament, which featured 16 teams from 13 schools.
Adair County High School and Lindsey Wilson College combined to host the passing tournament. Among the area teams joining host Adair County in the passing tournament were Campbellsville, LaRue County, Marion County, Barren County, Taylor County and Russell County. Games were held at both Lindsey Wilson College and Adair County High School.
The Indians managed to notch wins over Campbellsville, Marion County and Russell County during the tournament.
Gay was pleased with his team’s performance in the passing tourney.
“Since I’ve been here, we had never won a passing in our tournament until this year,” Gay said. “Our goal from day one has been to get better every day and we’ve done that. Our kids have worked hard throughout the offseason.”
Adair County will open the 2013 season at non-district foe Caverna on Aug. 30. Kickoff for the Adair County-Caverna game is set for 7 p.m.
