On Sunday evening, June 28, Columbia Police Officers responded to a welfare check in the Walmart parking lot.
Upon locating described vehicle and party, officers found a female inside a Ford Explorer passed out.
After waking the female, it was determined she was under the influence.
Search of the vehicle yielded findings of suspected heroin located in a dollar bill and paper, and female was taken into custody.
Rachel Gaskins, 30, of Knifley has been charged with numerous traffic violations as well as public intoxication, providing officers with false identification, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of heroin.
Gaskins was additionally served three active warrants from Taylor and Adair Counties pertaining to previous drug charges.
Officer Evan Burton was the arresting officer and was assisted on scene by Officer Drew Conn.
