Alvis G. Floyd, 85, of Columbia died Tuesday, September 08, 2020 at the Russell County Hospital.  Born in Adair County he was the son of the late Charles Henry and Mattie Ella Rooks Floyd.

Mr. Floyd was a member of the Millerfield Brethren in Christ Church and veteran of the U. S. Army.  He enjoyed vegetable gardening, watching sports (especially University of Kentucky basketball), being outdoors riding his 4-wheeler and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife Julia Emilene Floyd of Columbia; four daughters Anita Pike (Tim) of Russell Springs, KY, Cindy Floyd and Lori Ann Floyd both of Mt. Washington, KY and Amy Floyd of Lexington, KY; six grandchildren Tim “Andy” Pike (Angela), Jacob Pike (Melissa Raines), Devon Pike (Nathan Acree), Logan Godby, Hannah Godby and Abigayl Godby; four great grandchildren Garrett, Emmie and Breanna Pike and Harper Acree; a sister Carrie Lindsey of Mt. Washington, KY and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four siblings James and Charles C. Floyd, Thelma Wells and Nellie Corbin.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Saturday, September 12, 2020 at the Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the Freedom Cemetery.  Visitation will on Friday from 4:00-8:00pm and will continue on Saturday morning until time for the service at the funeral home.

Bro. Richard Lehman, Bro. Troy Grider and Bro. Jordan Burton will be officiating and pallbearers will be Garrett Pike, Andy Pike, Jacob Pike, Logan Godby, Byron Raines, Steven Corbin and Keith Curry.  Honorary pallbearers will be Willie George, Leon Huff, James Green, Dallas Neat and Charles Neat.
