Betty Rae Rogers, 76, of Columbia, died Friday, Nov. 4, 2016 at University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville.
She was born on Oct. 25, 1940 in Adair County, to the late Losier and Alva Keen Bernard.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Eugene “Gene” Rogers; her son, Ricky Burton; a grandson, Seth Akin; two brothers, Buddy and Bobby Bernard; and by a sister, Mae Franklin.
She was a member of Carrying the Torch Ministries and retired from Lindsey Wilson College Cranmer Dining Center.
She is survived by two daughters, Sheila (Marvin) Morgan and Sherry Rogers, all of Columbia; one brother, Billy Bernard of Columbia; two sisters, Brenda Simpson and Frances Freeman, both of Indiana; five grandchildren, Nathan Akin, Joshua Akin, Kellie Radford, Eric Morgan and Tiffany Morgan.
Twelve great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral service was Tuesday, Nov. 8 at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Pastor Glenn McInteer officiating with burial in Beulah Chapel Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Tony Bernard, Jr. Freeman, Mike Simpson, Kenny Koelling, Steve Franklin, Nathan Akin, Eric Morgan and Josh Akin.
Honorary casket bearers were Christian and Nick Radford.
