OBIT: Ova Ellabeth Bledsoe, 94

Ova Ellabeth Bledsoe, 94, formerly of Columbia and Campbellsville, passed away Monday, Jan. 9, 2012 at Life Care Center of Bardstown in Bardstown.
She was born on Sept. 2, 1917 in Russell County and was the daughter of the late Adolphus F. and Allie May Spencer Andrew and the widow of Marion Ralph Bledsoe who preceded her in death on Sep. 6, 1983. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Martha Kay Bledsoe on April 30, 1974 and Thelma Knifley on Nov. 12, 2002; and by four brothers and three sisters, Guy, Joe, Sam and Roy Andrew, Lena Agee, Nora Andrew and Mava Back.
She is survived by her son-in-law, W.R. Knifley of Glasgow; two brothers, Tom Andrew of Columbia and Ruel Andrew of Russell Springs; one sister, Dimple Gilbert of Jamestown; two grandchildren, Gregory Allen Knifley of Westchester, Ohio and Ella Kay Roberts of Glasgow; and by eight great grandchildren, Hunter Knifley, Bryan Roberts, Haley Christensen, Lily Christensen, Chloe Christensen, Emily Christensen, Austin Roberts and Olivia Roberts.
She is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was a member of Campbellsville Christian Church and was a homemaker.
Funeral service was Wednesday, Jan. 11 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Bro. Raymond Martin officiating with interment in Haven Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Keith Agee, Jarvis Agee, Julius Agee, Donnie Gilbert, Brian Roberts and Elvis Roberts.

Marie Greer Goodin, 84

Marie Greer Goodin, 84, of the Millerfield community, passed away Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012 at her home after an illness.
She was born on July 25, 1927 in Marseille, Ill. and was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Maggie Elizabeth Osbourne Greer.
She was married to Robert A. Hendrickson who preceded her in death. She later married Wesley Goodin, who survives.
She is also survived by her step daughters, Janet Burton and her husband David of Campbellsville, Sharon Melton and her husband Chuck of Campbellsville, Vickie Milby and her husband Gary of Campbellsville, Beverly Powell and her husband Dave of Columbia and Rebecca Wood and her husband Guy of Campbellsville; one sister, Bernice Schnoerr of Florida; one special nephew, Nathan Giles; and one special friend Elaine Bryant.
Ten step grandchildren and 20 step great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends also survive.
She was a member of New Hope Separate Baptist Church and had worked at Union Underwear in Campbellsville.
Funeral service was Tuesday, Jan. 9 at New Hope Separate Baptist Church with Bro. David Coffey officiating with interment in Chapel Cemetery at Knifley.
Pallbearers were Ivan Greer, Bill Greer, Phillip Greer, Stewart Greer, Daryl Greer and Dwight Greer.

OBIT: Vicki Kay Pierce, 59

Vicki Kay Pierce, 59, of Breeding, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012 at Norton Hospital in Louisville.
She was born on Nov. 27, 1952 in Anderson, Ind. and was the daughter of the late Edward Monroe Russell and Betty Kendall Mitchell of Anderson, Ind. who survives.
She was currently serving as postmaster at the Gradyville Post Office.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, David Pierce of Breeding; two sons, Sam and Joe Wheeler, both of Breeding; one daughter, Jossette Durham of Broken Arrow, Okla.; three adopted children, Ethan Pierce and Tenika Wheeler, both of Breeding and Aaron Pierce of Russell Springs; three step children, James Pierce of Columbia, Jennifer Pierce and Denise Rosin, both of Waverly, N.Y.; two brothers, Ed Russell of Florida and Monty Russell of Anderson, Ind.; and by two sisters, Patricia Smothers of Atlanta, Ind. and Terri Asbell of Anderson, Ind.
She is also survived by numerous grandchildren.
Memorial service was held Saturday, Jan. 7 at United House of Prayer Church with Bro. Don Taylor officiating.
Cremation has been chosen by the family.

Ellon Adams Fugate, 84, of Columbia, passed away Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011 at her home.
She was born on March 28, 1927 in Perry County and was the daughter of the late Henry and Patty Cody Adams.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry C. Fugate.
She is survived by her children, Deloris Chavers and her husband W.J. of Evergreen, Ala., Patsy Leslie of Columbia, Jerry C. Fugate and his wife Sara of Jefferson City, Tenn., Sheena Crowder and her husband Fred of Lakeland, Fla., Cash Fugate and his wife Johanna of Summershade and Casey Fugate and his wife Elizabeth of Columbia.
Seventeen grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends also survive.
She was of the Christian faith and was a homemaker.
Funeral service was Tuesday, Jan. 3 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Bro. Michael Lemmon officiating with interment in Haven Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jerry Fugate, Tommy Fugate, William Thompson, Matthew Leslie, Danny Roberts, Marvin Chavers and Cash Fugate.

OBIT: Bishop L. King, Jr., 49

Bishop L. King, Jr., 49, of Columbia, passed away Thursday, Dec. 22, 2011 at T.J. Samson Hospital in Glasgow after an illness.
He was born on Nov. 26, 1962 in Houston, Texas and was a truck driver and attended 3Trees.
He is survived by his father, Bishop L. King, Sr. of Oklahoma; his mother, Hazel Oakley Henderson and her husband Larry of Oklahoma; his fiance, Renee Stinson and her children, Tasha and Bethoni Stinson of Columbia; one son, Bishop L. King, III “Trey” of Oklahoma; one daughter, Brittany King of Oklahoma; one brother and two sisters, John King, Sherry Robertson and Carla Carter, all of Oklahoma; his grandmother, Sadie Oakley of Oklahoma; and his best friend, Jeff Forshee of Oklahoma.
Memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 7 at 1 p.m. at 3Trees Church in Russell County with Bro. Jason Hood officiating.
At his request, cremation has taken place.

OBIT: L. C. Hansel, 87

L. C. Hansel, 87, of Columbia, passed away Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011 at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville.
He was born on June 26, 1924 in Harlan and was the son of the late Thomas John and Mary Elizabeth Metcalf and was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Lucille Hansel on July 6, 2006 and by one daughter, Elizabeth Jent in 1969.
He is survived by two sons, William Hansel of Columbia and David Hansel and his wife Phyllis of Columbia; and by four daughters, Gerealdine Otterson of Columbia, Pat Krauter and her husband Tony of Kathlee, Ga., Linda Prochniak of Richmond and Frances Brennan and her husband Billy of West Allis, Wis.
Thirteen grandchildren, one step grandchild, 22 great grandchildren, one great-great grandhchild, several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends also survive.
He was a member of Living Faith Worship Center in Richmond and was retired from GTE.
Funeral service was Tuesday, Jan. 3 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Pastor Phyllis Miller and Pastor David Hansel officiating with interment in Haven Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Johnny Otterson, Kenny Otterson, Gary Hansel, Jonathan Hansel, Spencer Hansel and Jesse Krauter.

OBIT: David Dinsmore, 75

David Dinsmore, 75, of Mannsville, passed away Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011 at his home after an illness.
He was born on May 7, 1936 in Springfield, Ill. and was the son of the late Robert Truman and Ruth Jeanette Duff Dinsmore.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Francis Smith Dinsmore of Mannsville; one son, Patrick Dinsmore and his wife Connie of Hainesville, Ill.; one brother, Robert T. Dinsmore III of Springfield, Ill.; and by two grandsons, Kyle and Ryan Dinsmore.
Mr. Dinsmore was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in Korea, a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion Post in Campbellsville.
Graveside service was Tuesday, Jan. 3 at Lebanon National Cemtery with military honors presented by the Marion County Honor Guard.
Bro. Donald Gowen officiated.
