Columbia Police Respond to Fight and Stabbing

A 20-year-old female was stabbed during an altercation Tuesday evening.

Columbia Police officer John Dial and Sgt.Tracy McCarol were dispatched to the 500 block of Burkesville Street to a reported fight in progress.

Upon arrival officers found that two females had been involved in a physical altercation and one female had been stabbed with a knife.

The victim, Chelsea Adams, 20, suffered a laceration to her face and a stab wound to her back.

The perpetrator fled the scene and reportedly left Adair County.

Once officers had secured the area, Adair County EMS responded to the scene to treat Adams.

Adams was transported to T.J. Health Columbia and then to University of Louisville where she was listed in stable condition.

Officers have identified the perpetrator and charges will be forthcoming.

CPD Ofc. John Dial led the investigation, assisted by CPD Sgt. Tracy McCarol.
