The Adair County Hospital District and Farmers National Bank of Danville have come to an agreement that suits both parties for the Westlake Regional Hospital reorganization.
On Oct. 3., Judge David Tapp, Attorney Elmer George and Attorney George Smith all signed an agreement that approved an ad valorem tax.

The decision orders the Adair County Hospital district to implement and collect a separate and distinct annual tax on all taxable property within the district. It will not be less than 10 cents on each $100 of value.
The district is also ordered to take all steps necessary to implement the tax, which is set to begin Jan. 1, 2013.
The tax will be added to current tax bills pursuant to KRS 133.220.
Should they not be able to meet these requirements, the district is ordered to prepare bills for all Adair County residents.
Elmer George, counsel for the hospital district seemed positive about the outcome.
“Every community needs a hospital,” George said.
He added that the hospital board has done an exemplary job.
The resolution however, does not mean the case is shut.
The resolution signed also states the case will remain open so that further orders may be placed as necessary.
The order is also appealable.
