Businesses, the public, and anyone in the down town area will start hearing a sound again, beginning today, that hasn’t been heard for a few years.
Adair County Emergency Management Director Greg Thomas, along with Adair County Judge Executive Ann Melton, and the Adair County Fiscal Court have acquired equipment and been able to hook the siren in top of the Court House into the county siren system.

This siren will go off during severe weather but will also be sounding the noon siren daily as well as when there’s a fire as it did in the past.
The noon time and fire burst will only be for ten seconds and the weather notifications will be for at least three minutes.
