Dale Alfred Napper, 74, of Columbia, died Tuesday, Nov, 2016 at his home, surrounded by family and friends.

He was born on March 9, 1942 in Hamdon, Ohio, to the late Gartie and Stella Honaker Napper.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 44 years, Wilma Napper.

He was retired from Rockwell and DuPont, fomerly owned and auto parts store in Mt. Sterling, was owner, promoter and an avid fan of late model dirt track racing. He was a member of Corinth Baptist Church, a mason and was a Kentucky Colonel.

He is survived by his wife of nine years, Brenda McMahan Speer Napper of Columbia; one son, Jeff (Sherry) Napper of Winchester; three step sons, James David Speer, II, of Cane Valley, Mark Allen (Latrica) Speer of Campbellsville and John Daniel (Tonya) Speer of Columbia; one step daughter, Sarah Jane Speer Humphress (Keith) of Campbellsville; one granddaughter and two great grandchildren, Ericka Napper, Shelby Sturgill and Jackson Mills, all of Lancaster; one brother, John (Sharon) Napper of Jacksonville, N.C.; two sisters, Loretta (Joe) McCarty of Raymond, Ohio and Nancy Clemente of Lake City, Fla.; and by a sister-in-law, Gale (Jim) Swafford of Winchester.

Eight step grandchildren, three step great grandchildren and other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral service was Saturday, Nov. 12 at Scobee Funeral Home in Winchester with burial in Clarmont Memorial Gardens in Clark County.
