Investigators looking for additional victims
Campbellsville, Ky. (November 9, 2016) – 70-year-old Danny Butler, of Greensburg KY, was arrested Wednesday at 10:12 AM EDT on Hyde Park Road in Campbellsville. Butler, a practicing attorney, was charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking and Theft by Failure to make required disposition over $10,000.00. The Hardin County grand jury returned the indictment after hearing evidence related to Butler’s mishandling of client funds and escrow accounts.
Additionally, search warrants were simultaneously executed by KSP investigators and agents with the FBI at Butler’s residence in Campbellsville and his business office in Greensburg, KY. Anyone that suspects they may have been a victim of a similar crime, as a client of Danny Butler’s, is asked to contact the Kentucky State Police, Post 15 in Columbia at 1-800-222-5555 or by calling the FBI at 502-263-6122.
Butler was lodged in the Hardin County Jail. Detective B.J. Burton is investigating with assistance from the FBI.
