Doris Cook, 79, of Allen School House Road in Columbia, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2017 at her home after several weeks illness. She was born in Russell Springs on Jan. 9, 1938 and was the daughter of the late Ollie and Martha Bolin Kerr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Cook on Sept. 15, 2003; a son, Garry Cook on Aug. 30, 2004; and by these siblings, Maxine Burton, Darlene Kerr, Ruth Kerr and Kenneth Kerr. She is survived by two daughters, Fay Cook and Adalene Cochran both of Columbia; one son, Ronald Cook and wife Linda of Columbia; seven grandsons, David Cook, Marty Cundiff, Chris Cundiff, Kevin Cundiff, Terry Harmon, Ben Harmon and Jeremy Cape; 15 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Charles Kerr of Louisville, Carlie Kerr of Russell Springs, Bobby Kerr of Russell Springs and Otis Kerr of Lanesville, Ind.; one sister, Bonnie Stephens of Russell Springs; one half-brother, Jeff Kerr of Russell Springs; and one half-sister, Ruth Ann Hoover of Russell Springs. Several nieces, nephews and a host of friends also survive. She attended the Faith Temple Church in Russell Springs and was a homemaker. Funeral service is today at 10 a.m. at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Bro. Eugene Sneed and Bro. Shane Gaskins officiating with interment in the Freedom Cemetery in Russell Springs. Pallbearers are David Cook, Madox Cook, Jeremy Cape, Marty Cundiff, Chris Cundiff, Kevin Cundiff and Ben Harmon. Honorary pallbearers are Rodney Blankenship, Barry Steven, Carlie Kerry, Bobby Kerr, Otis Kerr, Charles Kerr, Bonnie Stephens, Terry Harmon, Michael Harmon, Alex Harmon and Larry Cundiff.
