Douglas “Doug” Eugene Melson, 58 of Hustonville went to his Eternal Home on Friday, September 22, 2017. Born September 21, 1959, he was the son of Eugene and Ruth Melson of Columbia. For the past 37 years, Doug had been a member of Hilltop Trinity Full Gospel Tabernacle Church where he sang and played guitar. He had worked as a radio DJ in Liberty and Columbia and worked at the Liberty Care Center as the Business Office Manager.
In addition to his parents, Doug is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Brenda Calhoun Melson; daughter, Beth (Earl) Tolley of Hustonville; sister, Cindy (Jeff) Greer of Arizona; mother-in-law, Donna Calhoun of Danville and father-in-law, Kenneth (Pam) Calhoun of IN.
Services were at 1 pm, Tuesday at Hilltop Trinity Full Gospel Tabernacle Church by Bro. Don Clark with burial in Hilltop Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Tyler Calhoun, Matthew Calhoun, Sid Freeman, Jerry Freeman, Mike Kinman and Zack Evitts.
Honorary pallbearers are Danny and Mary Griffin, Brandy Carman, Amanda Hatter and the staff at Liberty Care Center.
