Drug Trafficking Arrest Made on Hudson St.

The Columbia Police Department responded to a suspicious person call Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 17, in the vicinity of Tutt St. and Burkesville St.

A male subject was located at FiveStar on Hudson St. matching the description of a suspicious person call in. While speaking to the male party, Officers received a call of a subject dropping belongings on a property on Grissom St. off Tutt St. which was found to contain suspected narcotics and $1895 in cash.

The male subject stated to officers he had used methamphetamine earlier in the day. After he was searched, he was found to be inn possession of suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia.

Larin Stotts, 39, of Columbia was placed into custody and has been charged with public intoxication, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and trafficking in a controlled substance methamphetamine 1st degree.

Officer Holly Necessary was the arresting officer. He was assisted on scene by Sgt Evan Burton and Chief Jr Murphy.
