Kentucky State Police has identified four people who died after a home exploded on M. Coomer Road Tuesday afternoon.

Mitchell Coomer, 60, his wife, Lori Coomer, 52, their granddaughter, 1-year-old Kinley Rodgers, and Steven Aaron Keltner, 32, all died in the explosion.

Investigators identified the individuals from evidence recovered from the scene and from a surviving witness, 34-year-old Jason Coomer, the son of Mitchell Coomer.  Jason Coomer was in the basement on the opposite side of the home from where the explosion occurred and was able to make it to safety, sustaining minor injuries.  Official confirmation on the remains from the State Medical Examiner is not expected until sometime next week after DNA test results are received.  The cause of the explosion is still under investigation.

Firefighters and law enforcement were called to the scene of an explosion and house fire around 1:20 p.m. Tuesday at 401 M. Coomer Road.

Coomer is a local business man involved in the oil well and dairy businesses and is popular in the truck pull circuit.
