Gilbert Blankenship, 75, of Russell Springs, died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2023 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hopsital in Somerset.

He was a truck driver, had attended the Kentucky School of Mortuary Science in Louisville and was a Veteran of the United States Army.

He was the son of the late Martin Elbert and Betty Roosevelt Pierce Blankenship.

He is survived by:

Two sons: Derek Blankenship and Martin Blankenship, both of Russell Springs

One sister: Wilma Carman of Richmond

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Edith Rippetoe, Maxine Antle, and Raydine Ray.

Funeral Services for Gilbert Blankenship will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2023at Temple Hill Community Church with Bro. Phillip Miller officiating.

Interment will be in the Lawless Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 1:00 p.m. on Sunday at Temple Hill Community Church.

Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
