John Pierce, 45, of Greensburg., was involved in a two vehicle injury accident on Jan. 17 at 4:20 P.M. Joel Bennett, 56, of Greensburg, was the second vehicle in this accident.
Deputy Ricky Underwood investigated the accident when both vehicles were traveling together in the same direction on Kentucky Highway 55. Bennett had slowed to make a left turn onto a side of the road when Pierce didn’t see the turn signal and didn’t realize he was going to turn so Pierce struck the motorcycle from the rear. Pierce lost control and the motorcycle went down on the pavement causing injury to his leg where Bennett didn’t have any injuries or damage to his motorcycle. Pierce was taken to Taylor County Regional Hospital by an ambulance where he was treated for his leg injuries. Both Pierce and Bennett were wearing helmets at the time of the accident and both of their vehicles are still operational.
