After 23 years of service, Greg Thomas has resigned as Adair County Emergency Management Director.
Thomas posted a copy of his letter of resignation to Facebook Monday.
After being contacted by telephone, Thomas chose not to elaborate on his decision to resign but said he wishes Emergency Management well in the future.
The director is appointed by the county judge executive with approval by the fiscal court. After taking office, Judge Executive Michael Stephens added a new position of assistant EM director and the court appointed Mike Keltner to the position.
According to the letter, Monday is Thomas’ last day as EM director. He will continue as director of 911 dispatch, a full-time position with county government.
