Helen Faye Burton, 68, of Columbia, KY died Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at her residence. Born in Adair County she was the daughter of the late Claudy & Ernestene Janes Kemp. She married her husband Wendell Burton on June 26, 1970.
Mrs. Burton attended the Bloomington Chapel Brethren in Christ Church and had worked at Oshkosh and was a homemaker. She loved cooking, gardening and spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, Wendell she is survived by four children Suzanna Streeval (Tony), Rodney Burton (Ashley), Cagney Burton (Kelly) and Kayla Hagedorn (Vince) all of Columbia; eight grandchildren Leslie, Sarah and Lily Streeval, Ethan, Audra and Asher Burton and Jake and Levi Hagedorn; three brothers Billy Kemp (Rita) of Jamestown, Daryl Kemp (Connie) and Don Kemp (Vicki) both of Columbia; a sister Patsy Kemp (special friend Charles Seaborne) of Columbia and several nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a granddaughter Baylee Fayth Hagedorn and a brother Willie Kemp.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Friday, June 12, 2020 at the Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the Bearwallow Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00-8:00pm and continue on Friday morning until time for the service at the funeral home.
