IMPORTANT ELECTION DEADLINES FOR THE FOLLOWING POSITIONS
Mayor, City Council, School Board Districts 1, 3 and expired term for District 5, and Soil Conservation
Anyone wishing to file for these offices, pursuant to KRS 118.365 and KRS 118.375 the deadline is August 14, 2018; last day to file any petition, certificate or statement must be filed by second Tuesday in August. This must be done by 4:00 p.m. CST in the Office of Adair County Clerk Lisa Greer, 424 Public Square, Ste3, and Columbia KY 42728.
SCHOOL BOARD CANDIDATES FOR DISTRICT 1, 3, AND UNEXPIRED TERM OF 5
NEW REQUIREMENT
Pursuant to Senate Bill 101, that went into effect on April 4, 2018, KRS 160.180 was amended to require school board candidates to file a transcript evidencing completion of the twelfth grade or certified results of twelfth grade equivalency examination. This is in addition to the regular filing papers.
Filing papers may be picked up at the Adair County Clerk’s Office, 424 Public Square, Ste3, Columbia, during normal business hours, Mon-Friday 8 to 4 and Saturdays 8 to 12:00.
