The Indians of Adair County will enter the 20th District tournament that is being held at Marion County as the number three seed.
Taylor County will enter the tournament with the number one seed after going a perfect 6-0 in district play this season. They will face up against number four seeded Campbellsville who was winless in the 20th District and struggled all season to pick up wins. The two teams will face off on Wednesday night with both trying to punch their tickets into the 5th Region tournament.
Adair County will battle the number two seed Marion County Knights on Thursday night. Although Marion County has defeated the Indians in both contests this year, the Indians will try to overcome them and make it to the 5th Region tournament with a victory.
In their first battle against each other back in December, Adair County went on the road to Marion County and came away with a 70 to 63 loss. Last week the Indians hosted Marion County after the game had been postponed twice due to weather, and Adair County did not have a good showing as Marion County defeated them 70 to 55.
If the Indians are able to defeat the Knights, they would notch their spot in the 5th Region tournament and would have an opportunity to win the 20th District championship on Saturday night.
Taylor County would be the likely opponent if Adair County makes it to the championship and the Cardinals have defeated the Indians both times this year as well.
In their first battle back in December, Taylor County came on the Indians home floor and controlled the game with a 68 to 44 win.
At the end of last month the Indians traveled to Taylor County and really gave them a fight.
The Indians proved that they could play with the Cardinals and even though they lost 62 to 58, Adair County would be ready to fight again if the chance would arise.
