James Donald “Don” Hale, 83, of Russell Springs, died Friday, March 10, 2017 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.
He was born on April 4, 1933 in Russell County and was the son of the late James Leslie and Laura Lee McDonald Hale.
He was a former co-owner of Aaron Oil Company and was a member of Russell Springs First Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Hale; four siblings, Mary Louise Selby, Tom Hale, Jack Hale and Jean Hill.
He is survived by his wife, Charlene Aaron Hale of Russell Springs; two sons, Charles D. (Amber) Hale of Russell Springs and Anthony (Carolyn) Hale of Columbia; five grandchildren, Ethan, Austin, Travis, Dylan and Connor; his brother-in-law, Douglas (Brenda) Aaron of Russell Springs.
Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral service was Tuesday, March 14 at First Baptist Church of Russell Springs with Bro. Jeff Eaton, Bro. Jeff Griffin and Bro. Ryan Coffey officiating.
Honorary pallbearers were Deacons of First Baptist Church, Carson Rexroat, Jesus Zapata, Charlie Aaron, Dwight Harris, Jeff Womack, Larry Downey, Ronnie Brown, Sam Yared, Charles Blankenship, Jon Hale, David Hale, Derek Hale, Mike Selby, Darren Jones, Chris Wilson, Gene Helm, Richard Grider, Nathan Skaggs and Ken Sexton.
Active pallbearers were Charles D. Hale, Anthony Hale, Ethan Hale, Austin Hale, Travis Hale, Dylan Hale, Connor Hale and Doug Aaron.
The family requests memorials be made to Gideon Memorial Bible Plan or First Baptist Church of Russell Springs.
Bernard Funeral Home in Russell Springs was in charge of funeral arrangements.
