A Jamestown man suffered serious injuries when his vehicle spun out of control and crashed into a bridge wall Tuesday night.
A witness told a sheriff deputy that Daniel Jones was traveling west on Edmonton Road when the accident occurred. Deputy Adam Cravens said it appeared Jones lost control of his vehicle coming out of a curve just before Cold Stream Road. Cravens said he believes Jones hit the bridge’s concrete guardrail head-on and the force of the impact caused the vehicle to spin around and hit the guardrail on the opposite side of the bridge before coming to a stop.

Jones was extricated from the vehicle and taken by ambulance to Westlake Regional Hospital where he was airlifted by Air Evac to UK. A loose infant car seat was found in the vehicle so emergency personnel searched the area in case a passenger was thrown from the vehicle. It was later confirmed that Jones was alone at the time of the accident.
Deputy Cravens is investigating the incident. The Adair County Fire Department, Adair County EMS, and Search and Rescue responded to the scene. The roadway was blocked for around an hour.
