John B. McKinney, 77, of Scottsville, died Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017 at his home.
He was born on April 18, 1939 in Muhlenberg County, to the late Carl and Mary Wilson McKinney.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 14 brothers and sisters.
He moved to Louisville and was a successful businessman with Curtis 1000, Inc. Upon promotion he was transferred to Atlanta, Ga. in 1974 where he lived until he retired in 1997. In 1987, John married Sharon Pickett Gooden. John loved Kentucky and returned to Scottsville upon his retirement. He loved his wife and sons and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Pickett McKinney of Scottsville; two sons, Jim and Curt McKinney both of Georgia; two step-children, Myles Pogue and Jessica Kriz of Louisville; one brother, Paul McKinney of Drakesboro; two grandchildren, Joshua and Emily McKinney and three step-grandchildren, Chase, Camron and Connor Kriz.
Graveside service was Wednesday, Feb. 8 in the Columbia Cemetery with Rev. Steve Pescosolido officiating with burial to follow service.
