John Stewart “Stu” Lyons, 82, of Columbia, formerly of Florida, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Henreitta Elizabeth Lyons on March 11, 2011.
He is survived by one daughter, Sonia Shane and her husband Bart of Baltimore, Md.; one son, Jon Scott Lyons of Old Town, Fla.; one brother, Roger Lyons of Kissimmee, Fla.; three sisters, Delma Perrine of Old Town, Fla., Mary Lou Griffin of Orlando, Fla., and Betty Balogh of Houston, Texas.
Several nieces and nephews and a host of friends also survive.
Mr. Lyons was retired from the aerospace industry in Florida and was a U.S. Air Force veteran and made his home in Columbia for several years.
Funeral service was Saturday, Oct. 1 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.
