After opening the season with five consecutive losses, the Lady Indians volleyball picked up their first win last Thursday by hosting Caverna.
Adair County defeated the Lady Colonels in two straight sets to continue Caverna’s winless streak also. The Lady Indians won 25-13, and 25-12 in route to the victory.
Coach Sarah Dean was happy with her team’s performance and was excited to get into the win column.
“It was really exciting to see them have a good time, hustle, and come out with a win,” she said. “I think they needed that confidence booster to push them to the next level for the upcoming games.”
The ladies will travel to Glasgow today to play and they will be back at home on Monday to take on Clinton County before hitting the road for a couple of district games. On Tuesday they will travel to Marion County to play the Lady Knights and Thursday they will be on the road to Taylor County.
“We have a couple district games coming up and I hope the girls will continue to play with the same drive and passion that they did Thursday night,” Coach Dean said.
“We have played Marion County this season and they proved to be a tough competitor but if we play as hard as we did Thursday, it will be a great game.”
