The ACHS Lady Indians volleyball team hosted Taylor County on Monday evening in their first regular season game of the 2017 season. The ladies fell in three sets, 25-15, 25-17, and 25-8.
Even though the team failed to pick up a win, coach Jamie Bailey was proud of the effort her team made to fight through adversity.
“This was an excellent game,” said Bailey. “The girls made their transitions and defended the net aggressively.”
After picking up the first three points in their first match against Taylor County, the Lady Indians gave away the next seven points. It was too much of a lead to come back from, but the team continued to battle with passion.

“We did get tired towards in the end of the third set but perseverance will continue to be developed in practice,” says Bailey. “This team is young, but they’re like sponges; they’re constantly absorbing and learning the game.”
The Lady Indians next home game is scheduled for Aug. 21 at 5 p.m. against Barren County.
