The Adair County Cooperative Extension Service is proud to announce that they will be hosting Kentucky Attorney General Andy Beshear at 12 p.m. on Wednesday for an informational luncheon over the topic of Consumer Fraud and Protection.
“We think this is a great opportunity for the community of Adair County to learn how to protect themselves from numerous frauds, scams, or other types of charitable solicitations,” says Family and Consumer Science Agent Kelli Bonifer. “We hear about it all the time where people are misled by fake debt collectors and other fraudulent solicitors. We want you to know how you can protect yourself from this and you can learn all about your rights as consumers during this luncheon.”
Beshear will be giving out tips and information to help individuals understand how they can protect themselves from malicious and deceptive practices in trade and commerce. There will also be a question and answer session at the end of the program where individual questions and concerns can be heard.

The Adair County extension service is located at 409 Fairgrounds Street in Columbia. The event is sponsored by the Lake Cumberland Area Family and Consumer Sciences Extension Educators.
