Our growth rate is still high, and we are adding more new cases than we are releasing recovered cases. Also, our hospitalizations are creeping upward.
In conjunction with several community partners (Pulaski County Schools, Pulaski County Government, Somerset EMS, and Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital) we had a successful drive-thru clinic in Pulaski today. Three hundred and thirty-seven tests were administered. Nasal swab tests are very uncomfortable. We apologize for the discomfort but are thankful for our community interest. And, thanks to all the public health workers, health care workers, and community partners that are fighting tirelessly to defeat this pandemic.
The Lake Cumberland area has experienced 734 Cumulative Confirmed Cases and there have been 21,735 Confirmed COVID-19 cases across all 120 Kentucky Counties as of 07/17/20 (this includes 21,605 statewide plus 130 recently reported cases in Lake Cumberland not in the Governor’s/Department for Public Health’s daily report). Regardless of the confirmed case count for any Lake Cumberland County, we believe COVID-19 to be widespread. The LCDHD is working to identify and contact all those with whom any positive case may have come into close contact.
