Leonard E. Bryant, 91, of Columbia, passed away Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012 at Summit Manor Health and Rehab Center in Columbia.

He was born in Kokomo, Ind. on Oct. 26, 1921 and was the son of the late Cescil and Elizabeth Cravens Bryant.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Nellie Pearl Roberts Bryant of Columbia; four daughters, Glenda Bryant of Russell Springs, Sharon Bryant of Casa Grande, Ariz., Beverly Teramoto and her husband Roy of Phoenix, Ariz., and Deborah Bryant-Hudson of Casa Granda, Ariz.; six sons, Clifton Bryant and his wife Velma of Morgantown, Ind., Travis Bryant and his wife Elaine of Columbia; Bennie Bryant and his wife Dora of Campbellsville, Merriel Bryant and his wife Gaysorn of Indianapolis, Ind., Michael Bryant and his wife Monica of Yuma, Ariz., and Danny Bryant and his wife Susan of Yuma, Ariz.; and by one brother, Earnest Edward Bryant and his wife, Shirley of Columbia.

Twenty-three grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren also survive.

He was preceded in death by one infant son, Leonard Bryant, Jr. and by several brothers and sisters.

Mr. Bryant was a member of New Hope Separate Baptist Church and was a saw mill operator for many years.

Funeral service was Thursday, Dec. 27 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Bro. David Coffey officiating with burial in New Hope Cemetery.

Sons and grandsons served as pallbearers.
