Linda Kerns, 74, of Sulphur Creek Rd., Columbia, passed away Friday, July 22, 2016 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset after several months illness.

She was the daughter of the late Sam and Nina Stargel Rector. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rollin Kerns.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry, of Campbellsville; one daughter, Paulette Cox; two sons, Dennis (Alicia) Kerns of Campbellsville, and Brian Kerns of Jamestown; one grandchild, Miranda Scott; two brothers, J.C. Rector and Jerry Rector, both of Columbia; and two sisters, Jewel Belton and Nelda June Wolford, both of Louisville.

Linda was a cook for the Adair County school system, a homemaker and a babysitter for many years.

Funeral service was Tuesday, July 26 at the Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Bro. David Coffey and Teddy Johnson officiating and internment in the New Hope Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Travis Bryant, Darrell Cowan, Billy Johnson, Charles Neat, Dave Powell and Roger Stephens.
